Successfully Promoted Tourism to Nepal

Created a new Nepalese specialty.

The want to create a souvenir item which is definitely Nepalese and can represent the country – In our answer to the request from the Nepal Tourism Board for their national project, Nepal Tourism Year 2011, we cooperated with the Tourism Board and created an original souvenir item, the Himalaya Candy.Inside the large box with the picture of Himalayas, sit five small boxes with the design of Nepalese tourist spots of Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara, Lumbini and Janakpur. The beautiful pictures by photographer Thomas L Kelly are very highly appreciated.
All tasks from the procurement of the ingredients to the production, except package design, are done in Nepal, creating jobs and promoting industries. In November, 2010, we announced the introduction of Himalaya Candy to the press at the Nepal Tourism Board. Many guests including Mr. Kisho Thapa, the secretary to Nepalese Minister of Tourism & Aviation, and many press representatives attended. The news was covered on TV and newspapers the following day.
The candy was sold at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from the day of the announcement. It has become a popular item to commemorate the trip to Nepal, mainly among tourists. It is also sold at Sarangkot Fordays Restaurant and its profit is used to support underprivileged children all over Nepal. We are now developing a new product with a new package design.
